Double Bathroom Vanity Design: Rift-Sawn White Oak, Mixed Metals
Another beautiful project is coming to completion and with it, another fun collaboration with the talented design team at construction2style. This time, we’re showcasing a primary bathroom that carries modern warmth with professional craftsmanship, centered around a sleek double vanity in rift-sawn white oak.
This space captures the balance we love most: clean lines, natural texture, and thoughtful detailing that elevates everyday routines into moments of calm. Let’s take a closer look at how this double vanity came together from material choice to custom construction and what makes it a standout feature in this serene owner’s suite.
1. The Beauty of Rift-Sawn White Oak
At the heart of this primary bathroom is a custom double vanity crafted from rift-sawn white oak. This material was chosen as much for its beauty as for its structural performance.
Unlike standard cuts of oak, rift-sawn wood is produced by slicing logs so that the growth rings meet the board’s surface at a 30°–60° angle, ideally around 45°. This process reveals a clean, linear grain pattern that feels truly refined. The technique also yields boards with remarkable stability, minimizing the risk of warping or cupping over time.
Due to this, rift-sawn white oak is often found in high-end cabinetry, furniture, and architectural millwork, where designers and homeowners value both visual consistency and structural integrity.
At Sean’s Cabinetry, every vanity is custom built to order, and this one is no exception. The smooth, even grain of rift-sawn oak makes it an ideal choice for modern and transitional spaces that lean towards clean, yet luxury look. Beyond its beauty, this wood species offer dimensional stability and moisture resistance, which are critical in a bathroom environment where humidity can overpower.
Durable, dense, and naturally resilient, rift-sawn white oak holds its form and finish exceptionally well, making it a top choice for high-traffic areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, and flooring. The result is cabinetry that not only looks stunning on day one but continues to perform beautifully for years to come.
2. Double Vanity: Mixing Metals for a Curated Look
Designers from construction2style took this double bathroom vanity in a fresh direction by embracing one of today’s most refined trends, mixing metals. Instead of sticking to a single finish, they layered contrasting tones to achieve a space that feels intentional and collected.
This primary bathroom features solid brass cabinet handles and knobs, paired beautifully with a gold faucet. To balance the gold accents, the design team introduced bold black elements through the Rochester accent mirror and Fiza Vanity Light Fixture (installed horizontally), creating visual depth and contrast.
When everything in a space matches perfectly, it can start to feel too predictable. By mixing metals, you introduce unexpected variety that feels intentional, as if the space evolved naturally over time. The result? A double bathroom vanity that looks perfectly curated, and full of personality, while still maintaining balance and harmony throughout the room.
3. Cambria Countertop in Everleigh
To complement this double bathroom vanity, the design team chose a palette of materials that perfectly balances warmth and sophistication. At the center of it all is Cambria, one of our cherished partners and a brand we’ve proudly worked alongside on countless projects. Collaborating with Cambria always feels fun and special because together, we’re able to deliver a product that leads with exceptional craftsmanship with undeniable beauty.
For this project, we chose Everleigh from Cambria’s Luxury Series a striking design that combines cool grays with warm, sand-honey tones. The subtle veining and layered movement capture boldness and softness, making it a natural complement to the straight, linear grain of the rift-sawn white oak vanity.
4. Emser Tile: Esplanade and Vara
To extend this refined look into the shower, designers opted for Vara 3" x 3" Hexagon Mosaic Tile from Emser Tile. Beyond its visual charm, this mosaic brings a practical advantage: more grout lines mean better traction, providing superior slip resistance for the shower floor. The geometric honeycomb pattern also creates an engaging texture that adds depth and can make a compact shower feel more spacious.
Bringing it all together, the team selected Esplanade in Hall color, a durable porcelain wall tile from Emser, to complement the Cambria countertop. With its nuanced color variations and textured, travertine-inspired appearance, this large-format tile adds a soft visual rhythm to the walls. Available in both matte and polished finishes, Esplanade’s 12” x 24” format creates a fabulous modern look that flows beautifully from wall to wall.
The result is a cohesive and layered bathroom aesthetic. Custom double vanity that anchors the room with natural wood warmth is balanced by elevated materials that make this bathroom feel intentianal, handcrafted and not accidental.
4. Why Choose Sean’s Cabinetry for Your Double Bathroom Vanity
Every project we take on is about more than cabinetry, it’s about building something lasting. Our double bathroom vanities aren’t just designed for beauty; they’re engineered for performance and precision.
For this particular project, we used frameless construction, a European-style method where cabinet doors and drawers attach directly to the cabinet box rather than a face frame. This approach allowed for sleeker lines, maximized storage space, and a seamless modern aesthetic.
Behind every vanity is a proven process grounded in organization, efficiency, and attention to detail. From design collaboration to final installation, our team works closely with homeowners, designers, and builders to ensure every measurement, finish, and fitting aligns perfectly with the vision.
But what truly defines us is our commitment to relationships. We believe that great projects come from genuine collaboration and trust. Many of our clients become lifelong partners, returning to us for future spaces and referring friends and family, a testament to the care and consistency behind our work.
Whether you’re planning a remodel or building new, your double bathroom vanity deserves expert craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and a team that treats your home as their own. That’s the Sean’s Cabinetry difference.
