HIGH END CUSTOM CABINETS FOR TWIN CITIES HOMEOWNERS

Frameless construction, elegant designs, and quality materials anchor your home for decades.

Why we build frameless

Most cabinets in the United States are face-frame – a wooden frame around the front of the cabinet with a vertical stile splitting the middle. At Sean's Cabinetry, we build frameless.

Frameless means doors mount directly to the cabinet box. It means more usable space and doors that align across a seamless grid.

We didn't always build frameless – the shift happened when the same request kept coming from two directions – luxury designers who wanted precision most shops couldn't deliver, and homeowners and builders asking for cleaner lines and better use of space.

Frameless requires more precision and tighter processes. In 2017, we invested in CNC technology and edge-banding equipment to fully embrace it. Over time, we made a choice: rather than being good at every construction method, we would become exceptional at one.

Door styles we build

Shaker

Clean rails frame a flat center panel. At home in modern, transitional, and farmhouse kitchens.

Slab/Flat Panel

A single panel with no rails or center detail. A modern look, ideal for contemporary spaces.

A bead detail frames the inner edge. A refined look for cottages, pantries and transitional homes.

Raised Panel

A traditional style with a beveled or contoured center panel. Creates traditional, classic lines.

Beaded

Glass-Front

A framed door with glass front. Accents cabinets to showcase glassware and open sightlines.

Not seeing the style you want? We will build whatever custom door style your designer or architect created, or work with you on a vision.

Materials, Finishes & Hardware

The details that make our cabinets last decades.

Most cabinet finishes look great on installation day. The real test is how they look and feel five or ten years later. Every Sean's cabinet leaves the shop with a premium catalyzed conversion varnish, cured in our infrared oven. The result is a premium finish that holds up throughout your home’s history.

Finishes

We build primarily in solid wood, favoring white oak, walnut, maple, and cherry. Every material we use is sourced from high-quality vendors, most FSC-certified, and chosen to perform under real daily use.

Solid Wood + Premium Materials

Minnesota weather is hard on cabinet doors. Wood expands and contracts through the seasons. We use top-of-the-line adjustable hinges so doors can be tuned up quickly and operate smoothly no matter what the humidity does. You betcha.

Soft-Close Hinges

Side-mounted slides slam. We use high-quality under-mount slides that adjust without tools and glide quietly and smoothly for decades.

Soft-Close Drawer Slides

Dovetail joinery has been the standard for strong drawer construction since 3000 BC. Our standard boxes are solid soft maple, but we'll build them in white oak, walnut, or any wood you specify.

Solid Wood Dovetail Drawer Boxes

Every case part, including the back, is built from ¾-inch material. That means a finished interior, lasting durability, and flexibility during install – we don’t rely on top/bottom hanger rails like “big-box” cabinets.

Solid Cabinet Construction

Knobs and pulls are the elegant finishing touch for your cabinetry – modern pulls, classic knobs, brushed nickel, antique brass, we do it all. We'll help you pick the exact style look to fit your cabinets.

Custom Hardware

Pullouts, lazy susans, spice drawers, cutlery organizers, knife blocks, tray dividers, oh my! Every square inch of your kitchen can be engineered to work harder while looking great.
